Enter the Mikuverse

Drawn by Tokkyusan

Back in late February Crypton Media announced that they will be co-developing an original animated series about the most popular Vocaloid Hatsune Miku. I'm a little surprised it took them this long to create a series given how long Miku has been around for. Miku has celebrated her 13th anniversary (or birthday) on August 31, 2020. According to recent discussions about the series it will a mix of live-action, animation and music. It will also be introducing to us the "Mikuverse." (The Marvel cinematic universe better watch out.) We currently have no information on a air date yet or even if the other Vocaloids will be involved.

Hatsune Miku Project Diva

Hatsune Miku is a popular diva created by Crypton Media. She is not a live person, but a vocaloid program meaning her voice is synthetic for the most part. Saki Fujita would be the closest thing to the voice of Miku since her voice was used as the base of what Miku sounds like. KEI illustrated the design for Miku and thus Hatsune Miku was "born." Miku debuted back in 2007 and has gain popularity over the years. She's had full concerts and venues that would sell out instantly. It's said that Miku will also be performing in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics this summer. Miku has also gone opened for Lady Gaga for one of her concerts and was scheduled to perform at Coachella before Covid-19 cancelled the event. Along side Miku Crypton Media has other popular vocaloid characters as well such as Kagamine Len & Rin, Megurine Luka, Kaito, and Meiko.
