Gen 4 Pokemon is back

Image
On February 26 Nintendo gave us a new update on what's been happening in the world of Pokemon! The answers of fans (including myself) has finally been heard. We are getting our Diamond and Pearl remake. That's right generation 4 is back! We're taking are nostalgia trip through Sinnoh! The original games released in 2006 for the Nintendo DS and now 15 years later the remake "Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl" will be launched on the Nintendo Switch in later 2021. What version are you excited for? I'm not entirely sure which one I want, but luckily I have time to figure that out. I'm speculating it'll be in November giving how the pattern of Pokemon games seems to release sometime in the fall. But that's not the only news Nintendo has given us... Pokemon Legends Arceus Nintendo has announced another Pokemon game after the news of the Diamond and Pearl remake! Pokemon Legends Arceus is a brand new entry into the series. Apparently set in a feudal ...

[Light Novel] I'm in Love with the Villainess

Image
I only bought the first volume and I'm halfway reading it from writing this blog. I figured I'd give a quick review of what I've read so far and I'm gonna try to avoid as much spoilers as possible if anyone's interested in picking it up. Well as I was browsing my local book store, when this light novel caught my eye because of the title, "I'm in Love with the Villainess." I thought to myself, this sounds like Bakarina, and as I read the plot summary it was in fact the opposite of Bakarina. SOLD. In a nutshell, the main character gets isekai'd (teleported to another world) for no reason. She awakens as the main character of her favorite otome (dating sim) game. Taking on the character of Rae Taylor she is now living a new life as a high school student in a fantasy setting world. As a typical dating game she gets the option to romance some of the characters she comes across, however she chooses to ignore the main love interests and go for the villa...

Isekai can still be good

Image
With so much Isekai, anime, light novels, or manga, it's hard to really stick out of the crowd and try to be original. I came into winter 2021 looking at a few Isekai such as, "So I'm a Spider, So what?", "Redo of a Healer," and "Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnate,"(not including returning shows like Re:Zero) and boy does Jobless Reincarnate hit differently from the other 2. This show somehow manages to stick itself out among the vast majority of Isekai, and actually be really good. I can honestly say that this show is one of the best Isekai shows I've seen in a long time. I did briefly talk about this show in an earlier post but I feel this series deserves it's on post so I'll be going into greater detail about it. Redeus being born The series starts off with the main character a 38 year old shut in, getting hit by a truck trying to save some high school students from the trucks path. He's rushed into the Emergency Room and is s...

Crunchy Roll Awards 2020

Image
Well another year of anime, another anime awards by Crunchy Roll. While I am happy to see more diverse series winning different awards, you can't just help but feel some shows didn't quite make the cut or win the award you were hoping it would win but such is how awards work, it's all an opinion and everyone is free to have different thoughts and opinions. I'll be doing a quick run-down on the awards and my thoughts of what my favorites were for the categories Crunchy Roll did.  First thing I'm gonna mention is that these are all just my thoughts and everyone is entitled to having their own opinion. But going into any kind of awards ceremony it'll generally be a popularity contest. I have no problem with what's popular and theirs generally a good reason why it was popular in the first place, but what it comes down to is, "is that reason strong enough to be number one?" (For example back in 2017 Yuri on Ice swept practically every category it was ...

I may have jumped the gun since I did my first post already...oops. HOWEVER first and foremost thanks for droppin by a quick summary of this blog is just gonna be weeb culture news and reviews. If you enjoy anime, manga, light novels, are anything of that culture definitely check out some of this content here. I'm going to try to stray away from popular shows as well and dig a bit more into the "underground stuff" this medium has to offer....like medium level underground not to much obscure stuff.

Winter 2021 thus far

Image
Welp we're about half way into anime winter season 2021 and boy do we have a lot of good shows stacked. This is just a quick overview of 3 shows and my impressions on them that I've been keeping up on thus far. Because of the vast amount of titles, I won't be going over shows that have a sequel season such as Re:Zero, Quintessential Quintuplets, Attack on Titan, etc. This is mostly focusing on the new entries this season. With a title such as "Wonder Egg Priority" I already am raised with a simple question..... "what?" "Ai score a 'Wonder Egg' from a gachapon machine at a deserted arcade. But when Ai falls asleep a girl emerges from her Wonder Egg, the worlds of dreams and reality being to collide. And it's all connected." The summary also didn't answer any questions and only raised more. I mean it sounds interesting I wonder how this show will go. As I dove into the series I was pleasantly surprised how well this show is. Ai i...
